This problem seems to have arrived with my upgrade to Yosemite and it is causing e-mail from my family to be rejected and returned. I keep getting a small triangle next to my e-mail inbox that indicates that I can't receive e-mail unless I accept an insecure authentication, checked in advanced in mail preferences. This email and attachment was able to be downloaded on my iphone but not on the mac. The email account in question is a hotmail account. Other file formats, such as PDF show up just fine. For a few other clients it still works. Putting the files in an ZIP is a workaround, but a very clumsy and frustrating one. They just don't show up at their end, as if I wouldn't have attached them in the first place. Now that the software is not available für this version of mail (and it seems doubtful that it ever will be) I went back to using Mail without it.Įver since, some of my clients (using PCs) don't seem to be able to recieve attachments in JPG-Format from me.
